About the Journal

Established in 2017, the University of Chitral Journal of Linguistics and Literature (JLL) is an open-access, peer-reviewed, and internationally indexed scholarly journal published biannually by the Department of English Language and Literature, University of Chitral. The journal is recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, in the 'Y' category and is placed at Serial No. 1 in the HEC Recognized National Research Journals List (2026–27) for this category. JLL was also recognized in the 'Y' category during the 2023–24 and 2021–22 evaluation cycles. Dedicated to promoting excellence in research, the journal provides a rigorous platform for the publication and dissemination of original scholarly work in linguistics, literature, language studies, and related interdisciplinary fields, fostering academic dialogue among researchers at both national and international levels.
The scope of UCJLL encompasses a wide range of topics, including, but not limited to:
